My first, and possibly only, socks knitted with two circular needles. I used Merino Cashmere from The Knittery, and 2.5mm Addi Turbos, also from The Knittery. They took me a very very long time to knit and I did not particularly enjoy the technique. They feel good on my feet though!

The idea was that I would have a silver scarf to wear out - more for show than for warmth. I was inpsired by Maggie on The Office who has a different scarf for every occasion. Unfortunately it is far too scratchy to put near my skin and I found a commercial version for $9.95! I have worn it twice as a belt. It is a simple drop stitch design.

Elspiral Socks

So called because I used hand dyed Elvira yarn from Katt and spiralled a yarn over - every four rows I just moved the yarn over over! Then, I did it the other way around on the other sock, so they match. I actually made lots of mistakes with these socks, but you can't tell. Lovely. Soft and warm!

My first toe up wrapped heel socks that I made with a hybrid pattern. I loved making them this way. I could make them as long as I wanted. I had a bit of trouble with the top being too tight, but I pulled it back and did it very l o o s e ! Tada, excellent socks.

The celebrated clapotis, finally knitted by me. I could be the only person on earth who has not knitted this before now. It is huge and shiny and I love it. I can't wait to go somewhere so I can wear it. I don't feel very French though. Six balls of Zhivago colour 4469. I knitted this in about four days, but they have been a rough four days. My wrists are killing me.

curly whirly scarf

This scarf was really simple but quite tedious. I cast on about 200 stitches and knitted a couple of rows, then increased into every stitch and knitted a couple of rows, then repeated it again, and then cast off. I like it very much but it is a bit scratchy. It looks cool with my denim jacket and I received many compliments.

Knitted with 100% merino that I won in Katt's competition. These were lovely to knit, I really enjoy watching patterns emerge even if I often do not like what the finished product looks like with variegation over large items. Socks are perfect! Mother loved them! They are a simple 3x1 rib, top down sock of my own design.

I am still yet to wear this. It took some knitting and I wish I liked it, but I don't think I do. I think a friend who admired it will end up with it. Hohum! From a Zhivago pattern using cheapish Spotlight pure wool which is slightly shiny.

Spectrum socks for SS. Made in yellow only because of Project Spectrum. He loves them. Again Cleckheaton Country. I gotta get out more. I am definitely over 8ply socks. These are not SS's legs and feet, they are Lil Purls. I assure you they fit him much better!

My husband loves to wear beanies, but when he wears a brimless beanie he looks slightly scary and like he may be about to rob someone. This is the perfect colour and style for him, and I am very pleased with it. Made with 1.5 balls of Cleckheaton Country Silk which I found yummy in the extreme. I may well make myself a matching one in a different colour. Very quick to knit. Model not SS but Lil Purl.

I love this hat, I only hope it gets cold enough for me to wear it. Capably modeled here by Lil Purl. The plaited cable band is Cleckheaton country 12ply and the top bit is Noro Silk Garden. It is a funny yarn, and not really funny haha. It seemed to be very twisty and became quite difficult to work with. Still, the end result is fantastic, don't you think?

Knitted from the remainder of the CaraMia from the raspberry jumper, this is quite a short scarf but is intended to be worn with a pin and as there is only one right side I think it is fine. Basically got sick of it and used up all the yarn. Not sure how the MIL will like it, but I quite like it. First lace tackled and beaten, although twice I forgot to psso, so two tiny lines missing.

I love this! Just a very very cheap yarn from a discount shop at $1 a ball, I used one and a half blended with some salvaged purple wool/acrylic blend from an old Little Purl jumper that was hardly worn. I knitted lots of stitches round and round on 4.5mm circ until it was long enough, made two very quick i-cord handles, whipped out a flower and voila! The perfect bag to take to Branny's.

This is some random novelty yarn from Spotlight, 'evoke' something, which was quite cheap and chosen by Tiny Madam for a starf as she calls them. In 'pintt' of course!
Two balls would go nowhere near an adult size scarf, but this is just right for a three year old and she loves herself sick in it! Very quick and easy.

I knitted this from a horrible plastic cheap huge pile of acrylic that Little Purl insisted on buying. She saw a beanie that had a button on the bottom and wanted one, so I cast on with straight needles for the hem/brim/cuff thing and then swapped to a circular for the rest, then she added the pink hand button. She loves it, and that's the main thing! This is not her, it is a MyModel who has definitely seen better days.

Yarn - 8ply Cleckheaton Country. 3.25mm circ then dpns. Pattern does not exist but instructions from Crazy Aunt Purl allowed me to use my yarn, my gauge and my tape measure to make this hat. Eventually. Geez it rolls, and when it does, geez it's short. But now it's done, geez the small child looks cute in it! Love it.

These socks are 8ply, Cleckheaton Country, on 3.25 dpns. I enjoyed knitting them. Mostly. I love wearing them. I may try 4ply. Note the lily white legs despite a long, warmish summer. I don't get out much. Pattern a hybrid given to me by a friend.

This bag is so cool! I love it. It was quite lumpy and bumpy (it still looks bumpy in the photo but is much better in real life!) but I wet it and ironed the bejonkers out of it, and it looks great. I can't wait to show it off! Cleckheaton 100% 12 ply wool.

Odessa from Grumperina. I love this, it is like a flapper's cap. Now I just have to work up the courage to wear it! This is another project made from CaraMia, and the beads are glass. I placed the bead in the wrong spot the whole way around, so they are not centred. I don't mind, too much symmetry does your head in.

raspberry jumper

The first jumper I have ever knitted which fits me perfectly and that I will wear. The pattern is from Stitch n Bitch Nation, Flower Power. The yarn is CaraMia which is quite cheap but not at all nasty. This took quite some time to knit, the sleeves had to be redone and I have had a 'business trip' and an illness in the midst of it. About three weeks of knitting on and off and a bit more to actually put the thing together! Since taking this photo I have added a knitted flower, in the same colour as the jumper. It was a bit too plainish.
